Islip, NY – Islip Town Supervisor Tom Croci was recently joined by Brooke DiPalma and a throng of Town employees on the steps of Islip Town Hall to support “P.S. I Love You Day.” The event commemorated Ms. DiPalma’s father.
Participants were asked to wear purple in an effort to raise awareness of anti-bullying initiatives and community support groups who seek to aid those experiencing suicidal thoughts.
“Young Islip residents like Ms. DiPalma inspire our community. Her determination and courage in the face of tragedy and a difficult issue like bullying represents the kind of tenacity that every American can be proud of,” said Supervisor Croci. “I am truly gratified to see that our Town employees have also taken her message to heart.”
The Town of Islip maintains a hotline that residents can call to receive the support they need during a crisis. A highly trained staff of volunteers is available to answer questions, make referrals or just listen.
