Diane Fontana Recognized 2017 WICC Independent Business Woman

A special and well deserved honor! Independent Business Woman 2017, Diane Fontana, owner of A Perfect View Custom Window Fashions, Inc., received the nomination and proclamation from President Charles Spencer and the West Islip Chamber of Commerce, dedicated by Suffolk County Executive Steven Bellone. 

Diane is a prominent figure in the community. Not only is she a successful business woman, A Perfect View Custom Window Fashions, located at 210 Union Blvd. in West Islip, she is also a realtor with Douglas Elliman Real Estate, a member of the Women's Auxillary American Legion Post 1738, and Women of West Islip. An influential leader, Diane is currently on the Executive Board of the West Islip Chamber of Commerce, was a past president, and remains committed to bringing West Islip residents and businesses the very best in service and reliability.

Suzanne Costallos Joins Carnese Associates

Carnese Associates is pleased to announce the addition to staff of our colleague, Clinical Social  Worker, Suzanne Costallos.  We have known Suzanne for many years.  She has a rich and diverse personal and professional history and brings a unique set of life experiences to our practice.

A Juilliard School Drama Division graduate, Suzanne spent 25 years as a professional actress and singer before attending Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work where she received her MSW degree in 1997.  As a clinical social worker she has practiced in New York City and   Northern Maine, (where she lived for the past 7 years), working with people across the developmental spectrum.

Her areas of special interest include but are not limited to: healthy ageing; depression/anxiety; stress reduction; life transitions (especially mid-life), traumatic injury; interpersonal relationships; grief/loss; addiction recovery.  She is also drawn to working with artists, veterans and adolescents.

Maria Figalora Nominated "Women of Distinction" 2013

Suffolk County Legislature Tom Barraga has nominated Maria Figalora as "Women of Distinction" to represent the 11th Legislative District.

Ms. Figalora serves as Executive Vice President on the Board of the West Islip Chamber of Commerce, among many other organizations.

West Islip Association Uses Grant to Improve Community

Thanks to an Omnibus Grant sponsored by Suffolk County Lergislator Thomas Barraga, the West Islip Association (WIA) purchased and installed much needed benches and waste containers at designated bus stops in the West Islip Community. The West Islip Association is grateful for the opportunity to provide a needed service to the community. The WIA looks forward to continuing the project as funds become available.
