Today West Islip is situated on over 4000 acres, with approximately 30,000 residents who make West Islip their home. Numerous community groups offer support services and cultural enrichment for our residents. In addition to the various clubs and organizations affiliated with our schools and churches, there are many others such as the Chamber of Commerce, West Islip Beautification Society, West Islip American Legion, the West Islip Symphony Orchestra, Women of West Islip, Youth Enrichment Services and the West Islip Fire Department, all working to maintain and enhance the fine reputation our hamlet has attained. In addition, every September the West Islip Bicentennial Committee sponsors a country fair which has focused much positive attention on West Islip.

The West Islip Chamber of Commerce was formed on May 3, 1978. and incorporated in New York to help promote West Islip business and the community. Over the years it has helped bring about many events and functions to attract customers into the local business community.
